Box Score The Lindenwood Lady Lions had a rough night as they lost to the Central Oklahoma Bronchos 82-74 on Thursday night at the Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
At the start of the game, both teams took turns capturing the lead until Lindenwood went on a 6-0 run to go ahead 22-18 with five minutes remaining. However, the Bronchos would fight back with a 10-4 run to close the half and take a 35-29 lead in to the half.
The second half began with Lindenwood jumping out to a 14-10 run to eventually tie the game at 45-45. The Bronchos answered with a big 16-2 run which propelled them to a 61-47 lead . The contest appeared to be in Central Oklahoma's favor until
Julie Hlinak started shooting from beyond the arc to give Lindenwood a chance. The final seconds however belonged to the Bronchos as Lindenwood had to foul which put Central Oklahoma on the free-throw line. Trailing by six with only seconds remaining, the Lady Lions would eventually fall to the Bronchos 82-74.
Hlinak had another career-high night scoring 26 points in the contest followed by
Marissa Lehnig with 20.
Sarah Schnieders recorded 17 points along with four assists while
Caroline Bourlioux tallied seven. The Lady Lions out rebounded their opponents once again with Lenig tallying eight, Schnieders posting seven and Hlinak crashing six boards.
The Lady Lions basketball team will be back in action as they host Northeastern State on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo. Tip-off is set to begin at 2 p.m.
