Lady Lions Beat Harris-Stowe 83-52

Box Score The Lindenwood Lady Lions basketball trailed for just 16 seconds in an 83-52 win over the Harris-Stowe State Hornets on Tuesday night in St. Charles, Mo.

At the 17:57 mark of the first half the Hornets led the Lady Lions 4-3, but that was the last time the visitors held an advantage. Just 16 seconds later, Marissa Lehnig hit a three to put Lindenwood in front by one, and sparked a 24-5 run to put the home team on top by 18. For the remainder of the first half the lead never dropped into single digits. The Lady Lions headed into the locker room leading 39-24.

The second half was much of the same for Lindenwood. The lead reached 20 points just 10 minutes into the half, and the home team rolled to the 31 point victory.

Lindenwood shot 42.9 percent from the field and from behind the arc, and was 77 percent from the free throw line. The Lady Lions defense forced Harris-Stowe into 23 turnovers, and compiled 16 steals.

Lehnig led the way for Lindenwood scoring 21 points. Caroline Bourlioux scored 20 points while going 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Sarah Schnieders pitched in with 15 points, and Julie Hlinak led the team with seven rebounds.

The win improves the Lady Lions to 11-5. Lindenwood will be back in action Thursday night against Lindenwood-Belleville on the road.
