Lions Tie No. 25 Northeastern State 0-0

Box Score Thursday night at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. the two top teams in the MIAA men's soccer standings met and the game lived up to the billing. The Lindenwood Lions and No. 25 Northeastern State ended in a 0-0 tie.

For the first 45 minutes, the teams played a real conservative style with the ball spending most of the time near midfield. The Lions had the two best opportunities of the half late but could not get anything by the Riverhawks keeper.

The second half started with Lindenwood having back-to-back glorious chances right in front of the Northeastern State's net but once again Jordan Ladbrooke made the big save for the visitors.

With just nine seconds to play in regulation the Riverhawks had a free kick just outside of the box but the shot was just high. The contest headed into extra time with no score.

Neither team could break the tie in the first over time and the game headed into the second 10 minute extra period. The second over time was much like the first with neither team netting a goal.

Both goalies made huge saves during the contest and both earned a shutout.

With the tie Lindenwood stays a ½ point up in the standings and are 7-2-3. Up next for the Lions is another home game on Saturday against Harding with kickoff at 5 p.m.
