Box Score The women's ice hockey team ended its trip to Mankato, Minn. with a 4-1 loss to Minnesota State on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Lions had a good chance to take an early lead when Minnesota State received a major penalty just 33 seconds into the game. Lindenwood had seven shots on goal during its five-minute power play, but could not get on the scoreboard. Minnesota State took advantage then of its first power play by scoring late in the first period for a 1-0 lead.
In the second period, both teams scored one time. The Mavericks took a 2-0 lead with an even-strength goal a little over three minutes into the period. Just over three minutes later, Lindenwood answered with a power-play goal.

Minnesota State put the game away with two goals in the third period, scoring once in the first three minutes and again at the 13:28 mark.
Minnesota State outshot Lindenwood by a 46-31 mark, and had a 2-1 advantage in power-play goals. Lindenwood won the majority of faceoffs in the game by two, led by
Caitlyn Post who won 11-of-18.
Nicole Hensley made 42 saves in goal for the Lady Lions.
Lindenwood falls to 0-6-0 on the season. The Lady Lions are off for three weeks until its conference opener on Nov. 2 against nationally-ranked Mercyhurst.
