Box Score The Lindenwood women's volleyball team suffered a rare weekend sweep on its home court on Saturday. The Lady Lions lost match two of the weekend to Pittsburg State by scores of 29-27, 21-25, 25-20, and 25-21.
The Gorillas had more offensive threats on this night than the Lady Lions which was the difference. Four Pittsburg State players finished in double-figure kills, compared to just two for Lindenwood. Pittsburg State finished with 60 kills and a .153 hitting percentage, compared to 56 kills and a .135 hitting percentage for the Lady Lions. The Gorillas also had seven more assists, one more service ace, seven more digs, and one more block.
Kayla Guyot led Lindenwood with 17 kills, followed by
Erin Anselman with 14. Guyot also led Lindenwood in hitting with a .317 percentage, and in blocking with six blocks. Other team leaders were
Emma Brydels with 40 assists,
Ashley Treaster with two service aces, and
Kaila Schrimpf with 27 digs.
Lindenwood falls to 13-11 overall and 3-7 in MIAA play. The Lady Lions are in action again on Tuesday evening at Truman State.
