Box Score The Lindenwood women's volleyball team fell in three sets on Tuesday night to Truman in Kirksville, Mo. The Lady Lions fell to the Bulldogs with scores of 25-15, 25-14, and 25-14.
The Lady Lions struggled offensively for the evening, producing only 19 kills compared to Truman's 38. Lindenwood stayed rather close to the Bulldogs in the first set, keeping them within three until Truman went on a four point rally to make the score 17-11. Behind the serve of Abby Heise, Truman finished set one with five straight points.
The momentum from set one propelled the Bulldogs in set two, as Truman jumped out to a 14-2 lead. The two teams went back-and-forth that allowed the Lady Lions to get into double-digits, but the Bulldogs never relinquished their lead. The third set was similar to the first two, as Lindenwood never took over the momentum from the Bulldogs.
Freshman
Kristin Burnett led the Lady Lions with five kills while two other players had three.
Emma Brydels recorded 10 assists while
Kaila Schrimpf led the Lady Lions defensively with 15 digs.
Lindenwood falls to 13-12 for the year and 3-7 in the MIAA. The Lady Lions return to their home court to host Northwest Missouri on October 26. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
