Box Score The Lindenwood women's volleyball team fell on Friday night to Northwest Missouri, 3-1 at Hyland Arena.
The Lady Lions took command in the first set, allowing four ties, but never giving up their lead. The two squads were tied at 16-all before Lindenwood took nine out of the last 13 points to have the 25-20 edge over the Bearcats.
Northwest Missouri came back for revenge in the second, starting off on a 4-1 lead that never relinquished. The Bearcats proceeded to take set two, 25-15, set three 25-16, and set four 25-23.
Lindenwood was down 23-16 in the fourth set before a service error by the Bearcats' Abby Graves lit a fire under the Lady Lions. At 24-17 Bearcats, Lindenwood rattled off six straight points to bring it to 24-23, including a service ace by senior
Erin Anselman. A kill on the seventh match point by Brooke Bartosh shattered the Lady Lions hope to take it to five.
Anselman led the Lady Lions offensively with 11 kills while freshman
Kayla Guyot contributed 10.
Emma Brydels had a double-double for the match with 32 assists and 11 digs.
Lindenwood now falls to 13-13 for the year and 3-9 in the MIAA. The Lady Lions will continue their home stand by hosting Central Missouri on Saturday night. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
