Men's Soccer Closes Out Season With 4-0 Win

The No. 19 Lindenwood men's soccer team closed out its 2012 regular season with a 4-0 win over Ouachita Baptist on Sunday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.

It took the Lions just 7:34 to score the first goal of the game. Andre Hayne scored on a header after a perfect pass from Ivan Romero. After helping on the first goal, Romero scored the game's second goal in the 32nd minute. That was the final goal of the opening half.

Axel Duarte started the second half off well for Lindenwood scoring in the 61st minute. The visitors closed out the scoring in the 86th minute when Franz Husbands scored his first goal of the season.

Fermin Hughes started in goal for the Lions and stopped all five shots that came his way. The shutout was his ninth on the season.

With the win Lindenwood ends the 2012 regular season with a 13-2-3 record. Up next for the Lions is the MIAA conference tournament in Olathe, Kan. and starts on Thursday night. Lindenwood is the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will play the No. 4 seed Fort Hays State.
