Two College Hockey America (CHA) newcomers will meet for the first time this weekend at the Lindenwood Ice Arena when the Lady Lions take on the Nittany Lions of Penn State. Game one is Friday at 7 p.m., and game two is Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Both teams are young NCAA programs, as Lindenwood is in just its second year, and Penn State is in its inaugural season.
Lindenwood and Penn State are looking for their first CHA victories. The Lady Lions are 0-2-0 in conference play, while Penn State is 0-5-1.
According to the RPI rankings, Lindenwood has played the 23rd toughest schedule in NCAA Division I, while Penn State has played the 36th-toughest. Lindenwood's opponents are a combined 34-20-6, while Penn State's opponents are 13-22-3.
Lindenwood is looking to pick up its first win of the 2012-13 season and snap a 10-game losing streak.
Penn State is 4-7-1 overall and comes into the game on a two-game losing streak after falling twice to conference rival Robert Morris last weekend.
