Women's Basketball Travels To McKendree For First In-Region Game

• The Lady Lions are set to take on McKendree University in Lebanon, Ill.

• This marks the first contest for the Lady Lions in almost two weeks after competing down at the Saint Leo Invitational in Saint Leo, Fla. on November 16 and 17.

• The Bearcats are the first of four GLVC schools that Lindenwood will take on this season.

• This contest is the first region game for the Lady Lions this season. The Lady Lions were 3-7 last year during region games.

• The last time these two schools competed against each other was last season and the Lady Lion pulled away with a 72-57 victory. This is the 20th time that these two schools have competed against each other.

Lindenwood Notes
• Lindenwood is coming off of a two-game losing streak as they fell to Tampa (76-43) and Saint Leo (73-66) at the Saint Leo Invitational on November 16 and 17.

• Four of the five primary starters are returning to this year's squad from last season. Marissa Lehnig led the squad last season with 12.1 points per game while starting in 23 of 27 games. Sarah Schnieders started in 25 games while Caroline Bourlioux started in all 27. Katie Brown started in 24.

• Four out of the top five leading scorers are returning from last season. Those four combined for 44.3 total points per game, just less than two-thirds of the team's scoring average.

Meagan Hittle currently leads the conference in three-point shooting percentage. She has hit 6-of-8 at a .750 clip.

• The Lady Lions are averaging 12.3 steals per contest this season.

Caroline Bourlioux tied her career-high of 25 points against Saint Leo on November 17. Bourlioux is averaging at team-high 14.3 points per game this season.

• Freshman Tori Kuhn is leading the team in rebounds with 6.3 per game and is second on the team with 11.7 points per game.

• Lindenwood produced a 6-3 record at Hyland Arena last season. The Lady Lions also went 14-3 after leading at the half

• Lindenwood has started the season shooting 39.0 percent from beyond the arc. The Lady Lions are holding opponents to just a 34.5 percent mark.

• The Lady Lions were 13-4 when they outrebounded their opponents after the 2011-12 season. This season, they have outrebounded their opponents twice and are 1-1 in that time period.

• Lindenwood has outrebounded its opponents this season 117-100.

• After the 2011-12 season, the Lindenwood women's basketball squad was recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association for its work in the classroom. The team finished with a team GPA of 3.567 which was the seventh-highest GPA in all of NCAA Division II.

• This season marks the inaugural season for the Lady Lions in the MIAA. The MIAA is one of the top basketball conferences in Division II.

• Due to being in NCAA Division II provisional status, the Lady Lions will not have the opportunity to compete at the MIAA conference tournament in March.

• On Saturday, December 1, the Lady Lions will be back at home as they are set to host Missouri-St. Louis. The game will be the second of four GLVC contests during the 2012-13 season.

McKendree Notes
• McKendree has started the 2012-13 season with a 3-2 overall record. They have yet to play a GLVC game this season

• Head Coach Melissa Ringhausen earned her 300th career win in the Bearcats last game against Huston-Tillotson.

• The Bearcats are in their inaugural season in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

• Sophomore Guard Caty Ponce currently is leading the team offensively, scoring 22.0 points per game through the first five contests.

• Shelby Woelfel is a key player inside for the Bearcats as she snags 6.6 rebounds per game.
