Lady Lions Drop Third Straight

Box Score The Lindenwood women's basketball team dropped its third straight on Wednesday night as the McKendree Bearcats defeated the Lady Lions 86-71 in Lebanon, Ill.

Freshman Tori Kuhn recorded her first collegiate double-double in the game as she snagged 10 boards while contributing 13 total points.

The Lady Lions were down by as many as seven in the first half before a jumper by Sarah Schnieders sparked a 14-3 run to put Lindenwood up by four. McKendree clawed back to reclaim the lead throughout the final ten minutes of the first half while silencing the Lindenwood offense. A three-pointer by McKendree's Caty Ponce with one second left in the half put the Bearcats up eight heading into halftime.

The second half proved to go McKendree's way early, as the Bearcats' smallest lead for the rest of the contest was the lead coming out of halftime. The Bearcats got up by as many as 23 at the halfway mark in the second half. Lindenwood retaliated and produced a 19-4 run to bring it back to within eight with 3:56 left in the game. The Bearcats scored six out of the final nine points to close out the Lady Lions.

Julie Hlinak led the Lady Lions in scoring with 15 while Schnieders also contributed double-digit points with 13. The Lady Lions outrebounded the Bearcats 47-44, but lost the turnover battle 27-17. Both squads shot just over 40 percent from the floor.

The Lady Lions fall to 1-3 on the season. Lindenwood will return home on Saturday, December 1 to host Missouri-St. Louis. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Hyland Arena.
