Box Score The Lindenwood women's hockey team fell to No. 5 Mercyhurst on Saturday afternoon at the Lindenwood Ice Arena. The Lady Lions were outshot 64-17 and lost 6-0.
Penalties hurt Lindenwood as they were on the penalty kill eight times in the game. It only gave up two power-play goals, but both came on five-on-three opportunities within 1:07 of each other late in the second period. Those pair of goals made the game 4-0 and the Lady Lions could not get back into the game after that.
Taylor Fairchild made 58 saves in the game and
Allysson Arcibal led the team with four shots on goal.
Brett Lobreau and
Chelsea Witwicke each had two blocks.
Lindenwood falls to 0-8-0 on the season and 0-2-0 in CHA play. The Lady Lions travel to St. Cloud State next weekend for a two-game series.
