Box Score The Lindenwood women's hockey team fell to RIT by a 5-1 score on Saturday evening in a CHA contest in Rochester, N.Y.

Lindenwood's best chance to win the game came in the second period when it had four power-play opportunities. The Lady Lions could not convert any, including a five-on-three at one point. Lindenwood did score once late in the period to cut its deficit to 2-1, but the Tigers scored just over a minute later to regain the momentum.

In the third period, the Lady Lions committed four penalties which hurt their comeback attempt.  RIT scored twice in the final 20 minutes to pull away for the win.

Lyndsay Kirkham scored Lindenwood's only goal with an unassisted score in the 18th minute of the second period. Taylor Fairchild played the entire game in goal and made 35 saves. Jocelyn Slattery was +1 for the game and Alyssa West led the squad with four shots.

Lindenwood and RIT will meet again on Sunday afternoon for game two of the series.
