Lady Lions Travel To Missouri S&T For Final GLVC Contest

• Lindenwood heads to Missouri S&T for its final contest against a GLVC member during the 2012-13 season.

• Both teams are coming off victories in their last contest. Lindenwood defeated Illinois-Springfield by a score of 66-62 and Missouri S&T defeated Drury in the GLVC conference opener, 66-63.

• This will be the ninth time that these two squads have competed against each other. Missouri S&T holds a 7-1 advantage.

• The last time these two teams faced each other was back in 2007. Missouri S&T won by a score of 84-49.

Lindenwood Notes
• Lindenwood looks to move to 2-2 against GLVC teams this season and to win its second consecutive contest.

• As of December 17, freshman Tori Kuhn is 12th in the conference in rebounds. Kuhn is averaging 7.5 boards per game.

Sarah Schnieders is in the top-15 in field-goal percentage. She is making 52.5 percent of her shots, going 21-for-40 in six games this season.

• Schnieders is currently 11th in the conference in free throw percentage, making 81.3 percent of her shots from the charity stripe.

Julie Hlinak is 12th in the conference in three-point shooting percentage. Hlinak is shooting at a 42.1 percent clip and has made 16 though eight games.

• Lindenwood is sixth in the conference from beyond the arc. As a team, the Lady Lions are shooting 35.6 percent from three-point range. Truman leads the conference at 43.0 percent.

• The Lady Lions are eighth in the conference in steals, with 69 total through the first eight games.

Sarah Schnieders is approaching 1,000 career total points. Entering Wednesday's contest, she is sitting at 988 points.

• Lindenwood is seventh in the conference in rebounding, averaging 39.1 rebounds per game.

• After the 2011-12 season, the Lindenwood women's basketball squad was recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association for its work in the classroom. The team finished with a team GPA of 3.567 which was the seventh-highest GPA in all of NCAA Division II.

• This season marks the inaugural season for the Lady Lions in the MIAA. The MIAA is one of the top basketball conferences in Division II.

• Due to being in NCAA Division II provisional status, the Lady Lions will not have the opportunity to compete at the MIAA conference tournament in March.

• The Lady Lions conclude the 2012 calendar year with a contest against Benedictine-Springfield at home on December 31. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
• Lindenwood traveled to Illinois-Springfield on December 15th and won its second game of the 2012-13 season.

Marissa Lehnig led the team offensively with a season-high 18 points.

• Lindenwood shot just over 48 percent from the floor while holding Illinois-Springfield to 43 percent shooting.

• The team continued to cut the number of turnovers committed. In this contest, the Lady Lions had a season-low 14 turnovers.

• Lindenwood outrebounded the Prairie Stars 37-35.

• The Lady Lions outscored Illinois-Springfield 24-18 in bench points.

Missouri S&T Notes
• The Missouri S&T Miners slipped past Drury in the conference opener 66-63.

• Hailee Parks leads the team in points, averaging 15.7 points per game. She also averages a team-high 7.8 rebounds per contest.

• Toni Knar has gone 17-for-40 from beyond the arc this season and is averaging 12.2 points per game.

• Alan Eads is the head coach of the Miners and he is currently in his 11th season. In 11 seasons at Missouri S&T, Eads has compiled a 147-133 overall record.
