Lions Have Big First Half in Win Over Victory

Box Score The Lindenwood basketball team beat the Victory University Eagles 92-67 in front of a big crowd dressed in red for the annual “Go Red” game Tuesday night at the Hyland Arena.

Victory jumped out to a 5-0 lead with help from the Lions who missed their first three shots. But the Eagles lead lasted all of two minutes. Lindenwood's offense woke up and exploded out to a 21-6 run to lead by 11. The Lions extended the lead to 23 at the end of the first half.

The final 20 minutes was all Lindenwood. Just four minutes into the second half, the lead was already up to 34.  That would be the Lions biggest lead of the night and the advantage never got below 20 points.

Lindenwood shot 55 percent from the field, 50 percent from the three-point line, and 90 percent from the free-throw line. The Lions outrebounded the Eagles 44-24 and the team compiled six blocks.

Kramer Soderberg led the way for Lindenwood with 20 points. Alex Bazzell scored 15 and Gareet Reeg chipped in with 14. Efkan Eren and Reeg led the team in rebounds with six.

With the win the Lions improve their record to 24-2. Up next for Lindenwood is the teams last regular season road trip. The Lions will travel to Oklahoma to take on Central Oklahoma on Thursday and Northeastern State on Saturday.
