Lions Lose For Only The Third Time This Season

Box Score The Lindenwood men's basketball team lost just its third game of the season on Thursday night to Central Oklahoma 68-56 in Edmond, Okla.

The Lions had their worst night of the year shooting the basketball. Lindenwood shot just 34 percent from the field and 25 percent from behind the three point arc.

Central Oklahoma jumped out to an early lead scoring the game's first 10 out of 12 points. The Lions cut the lead to one on several occasions but could never tie the score or take the lead. At the end of the opening half Lindenwood trailed 35-32.

The final half started with the Bronchos going on an 11-2 run to extend the lead up to 12. The Lions did not have answer for Central Oklahoma and could only get the deficit to nine. The home team answered every Lindenwood point and held on for the win.

Central Oklahoma never trailed in the game and dominated the Lions on the boards. The Bronchos outrebounded Lindenwood 34-27.

Alex Bazzell was the only Lion to score in double figures with 17. Kramer Soderberg led the team in rebounds with four.

The loss snaps Lindenwood's eight game winning streak and drops the team's record to 24-3. Up next for the Lions is another road game against Northeastern State on Saturday afternoon.
