Women's Volleyball Falls 3-0 To No. 8 Central Missouri

Box Score In the second conference match in as many days, the Lindenwood women's volleyball team fell 3-0 to No. 8 University of Central Missouri on Saturday afternoon.

Lindenwood kept close with the nationally-ranked squad throughout the contest, falling 25-17, 26-24 and 25-19 in the three sets.

In set two, the Lady Lions started strong, jumping out to a 5-1 lead early. That lead continued to expand, as Lindenwood was up 15-7 at one point before Central Missouri rattled off eight straight points to bring it to 15-all. From that point on, the two teams kept each other within reach, never going up by more than two. In the end, Lindenwood fought off one set point before Central Missouri finished it off by the two point margin.

Sophomore Emma Brydels recorded the only double-double of the day for both teams, tallying 28 assists with 12 digs. Erin Anselman led the squad in kills with 13.

The Lady Lions struggled to contain the Jennies at the net, as Central Missouri hit .323 as a team with Lindenwood recording six blocks. The Jennies held the Lady Lions at a .178 clip for the day.

Lindenwood now falls to a 5-6 overall record and 0-3 record in the MIAA. The Lady Lions continue their road streak by traveling to Bolivar, Mo. for a conference match-up against Southwest Baptist University on Tuesday evening. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
