The Lindenwood men's soccer team scored with just two minutes left in the first overtime to beat the Christian Brothers Bucs 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in St. Charles, Mo.
It took the Lions just 2:27 into the game to take the lead.
Azeem Razwan scored from just inside the penalty box to give Lindenwood the 1-0 lead. The remaining 35 minutes neither team could muster much of an offensive push.
The second half started with both teams playing a defensive style game. But in the 58
th minute Christian Brother's forward Jose Ferraz was able to slip a shot under the Lions goalie to tie the score.
The contest headed into overtime tied at one. The Bucs had a golden opportunity just three minutes in but the shot went just wide. Lindenwood capitalized on the missed opportunity and with just over two minutes left,
Eric Olvera scored to give the Lions a thrilling 2-1 win.
With the win Lindenwood improves its record to 2-1-1. Up next for the Lions is a road game against Southwest Baptist on September 14.
