Brad Soderberg Wins His 300th Career Game

Box Score Lindenwood men's basketball coach Brad Soderberg won his 300th career game as a collegiate basketball coach Thursday night after the Lions beat Missouri Southern 95-69 in St. Charles.

The contest was all Lindenwood from the opening tip. The Lions started the game going on a 28-8 run over the first 10 minutes. The closest Missouri Southern got in the first 20 minutes was 13 and Lindenwood went into the locker room leading by 15.

The second half was much of the same. The Lions dominated inside and outside and pushed the lead to as high as 26. In the final half, Lindenwood outscored the visitors 26-8 inside the paint.

Tyler Ressel led the way for the Lions scoring 21 points including five-of-nine from behind the three-point line. Alex Bazzell recorded his second straight double-double scoring 17 points and dishing out 13 assists.

Sophomore Darris Smith also had a big night filling up the stat sheet. He scored 16 points, grabbed five rebounds, had seven assists, and compiled two steals. Richie Thompson chipped in with 17 points and missed just one shot on nine attempts. Freshman Aaron Ramirez grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds in just 15 minutes of play.

The Lions shot 58 percent from the field, 48 from the free throw line, and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Lindenwood won the rebounding battle 39-31 and forced Missouri Southern into 16 turnovers.

With the win the Lions improve to 9-3 overall and 2-2 in MIAA play. Lindenwood will be right back on its home court Saturday afternoon against Central Oklahoma.
