Lions Look For Sixth Straight Win on Saturday Afternoon

• The Lindenwood Lions are back on the Hyland Arena floor for the fourth straight home game and third straight MIAA game. Lindenwood welcomes the Central Oklahoma Bronchos to St. Charles.

• These two team have played two times with each team winning one.

• Lindenwood is coming off a 95-69 win over the Missouri Southern State Lions and have now won five games in a row.  

• Central Oklahoma enters tonight's game with a record of 5-8 overall and 3-2 in MIAA play. The Bronchos are coming off a 85-80 win over Truman.

Lindenwood Notes

• This season the Lions are scoring 82.1 points a game. That total ranks first in the MIAA.

• This season's roster consists of five seniors and those seniors are leading the way. The group is scoring 67 percent of the team's average points per game.

• The Lions have won a season-high five games in a row.

Richie Thompson has led the team in rebounding six times. He has also led the team in blocks five times.
 
Brett Thompson is shooting 69 percent from the field which is the best in the MIAA. He is almost seven percent higher than number two in the league.  

• The Lions have made at least five threes in every game but once this season. The season high in made threes was 12 against William Woods.

• When the Lions score at least 80 points the team is 5-0 and when the team scores over 70 the team is 7-2.

Alex Bazzell has been the Lions go to scorer so far this season. He has led the team in scoring in seven-of-12 games.

• Earlier this season, Bazzell scored his 1,000 career point as a Lindenwood Lion. He becomes the ninth Lion in program history to reach the milestone.

• Senior Cody Sorenson has been strong from behind the three-point line. He has made at least two threes in every game but three. His high of the season was against Missouri S&T when he made four.

• The Lions have outrebounded its opponents this season by a 488-377 margin. When the team grabs more rebounds it is 9-1, There has only been two games this year when the Lions have lost the rebounding battle.

• Over the past two seasons, the Lions have seen overtime numerous times. In 2011-12, the team played three overtime games. The team has already played in three over time games. The Lions have a 2-4 record in overtime since last season.

• Head Coach Brad Soderberg keeps adding to his overall win total and has now won 300 games in his caeer.

• Opponents are shooting just 39 percent from the field and 34 percent from behind the line.

• The Lions have shot 111 more free throws than their opponents. When the team shoots more free throws than its opponents, the team is 8-1.

• Lindenwood has outscored its opponents in both the first half and the second half this season. But the second half has been the Lions best. The team has outscored its opponents 515-396 in the final 20 minutes.

• If the Lions hold their opponents to 69 points or less the team is 7-0. If the opposition scores more than 69 the team is 2-3.

• With the win against Truman earlier in the season the Lions won their first ever MIAA conference game.

• After playing a season without a conference the Lions will play this year in the MIAA. Lindenwood will play 18 conference games.

• The Hyland Arena floor has been very good to the Lions since Brad Soderberg took over. In his first four seasons, Lindenwood is 46-6 at home.  

• For the first time in school history the Lions have had three consecutive 20 win seasons. All three seasons have been under the watchful eye of Coach Soderberg.

• The Lions return seven of their top eight scorers from last season's squad. The only loss was Kramer Soderberg who averaged 17.9 points. 

Central Oklahoma Notes

• The Central Oklahoma Bronchos enter the contest with a record of 4-8 overall and 2-2 record in MIAA play. The Bronchos won their last game against No. 8 Washburn 72-67. Central Oklahoma  has a road record of 1-2.

• As a team Central Oklahoma is averaging 76.3 points a game on offense and is surrendering just 76.8 points on the defensive side of the floor. The Bronchos are shooting 42 percent from the field and 32 percent from behind the three-point line.

• The Bronchos are led by Josh Gibbs who scores 14.2 points a game. Spencer Smith is second on the team with 13.1 points.

• Terry Evans is the head coach of Central Oklahoma and is in his 11th season at the helm.
