Lady Lions Fall In Series Finale Against Syracuse

Box Score postgame quotes (video)

The Lindenwood women's hockey team fell to Syracuse on Saturday afternoon at the Lindenwood Ice Arena by an 8-1 margin.

The Orange had a 54-19 advantage in shots and scored the only power-play goal in the game. Syracuse dominated from the very first period as it jumped out to a 4-0 lead. Three of the goals came in a 2:50 span midway through the period. The Orange extended the lead to 7-1 after two periods and added one more goal in the final 20 minutes.

Lindenwood's only goal came just 37 seconds into the second period. Alison Wickenheiser found Allysson Arcibal with an outlet pass and Arcibal was able to beat Syracuse's goalie for the score. The Lady Lions had a chance just a minute later to cut into the lead even more when they went on a power play. They couldn't convert though and Syracuse regained the momentum with a power-play goal at the 5:33 mark.

Lindenwood will head east next week for a two-game series at CHA leader Mercyhurst.
