Women's Basketball Look For Upset Against Fort Hays State

• Lindenwood will host Fort Hays State on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. This is the second- to-last game of the 7-out-of-8 game homestretch.

• This is the first meeting between the Lady Lions and the Tigers.

• Lindenwood will play several members of the MIAA twice. This season, it will only play Fort Hays State once.

• This is the longest conference road game for Fort Hays State. From Hays, Kan. to St. Charles, Mo., the Tigers are traveling almost 500 miles.

• Lindenwood looks to pull the upset on Thursday against Fort Hays State.

• As of January 21, Sarah Schnieders has cracked the top-ten in the MIAA in field-goal percentage. She makes 51.4 percent of her shots per game, putting her ninth in the conference.

Julie Hlinak has had 11 games where she has scored at least double-digit points. Sarah Schnieders has eight games in double-digits.

• Schnieders is also 14th in the conference in steals per game. She has racked up 22, averaging 1.7 steals per game.

Julie Hlinak has moved up to 12th in the conference in scoring. She is averaging 12.5 points per game.

• Hlinak is ranked 19th in the conference in rebounds per game. The sophomore averages 5.6 per game.

Sarah Schnieders and Meagan Hittle have started in every game they have played in for the Lady Lions this season.

Jenny Rocha has led the team in assists in six games this season.

• Lindenwood is tenth in the MIAA in free-throw percentage. The Lady Lions make 66.2 percent of their shots from the charity stripe.

• The Lady Lions have moved up to seventh in the conference in field-goal percentage. Lindenwood is shooting 41.8 percent from the floor.

• With 577 total rebounds this season, the Lady Lions are eighth in the conference, averaging 38.5 per game.

• After the 2011-12 season, the Lindenwood women's basketball squad was recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association for its work in the classroom. The team finished with a team GPA of 3.567 which was the seventh-highest GPA in all of NCAA Division II.

• This season marks the inaugural season for the Lady Lions in the MIAA. The MIAA is one of the top basketball conferences in Division II.

• Due to being in NCAA Division II provisional status, the Lady Lions will not have the opportunity to compete at the MIAA conference tournament in March.

• Lindenwood will host Washburn on January 26. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. in Hyland Arena.

Last Time Out
• Lindenwood fell to Lincoln at home by a score of 72-63

• Both teams shot 40.6 percent from the floor (26-for-64).

• The Lady Lions were outrebounded 52-39 in the contest.

Marissa Lehnig led the Lady Lions with 13 points in the loss.

Meagan Hittle recorded a season-high 12 rebounds. All of her rebounds were defensive.

• Lindenwood forced 23 Lincoln turnovers while committing 20.

Fort Hays State Notes
• Tony Hobson is in his fifth year at Fort Hays State and has lead the Tigers to an 11-4 overall record this season.

• The Tigers are coming off of a loss to No. 24 Pittsburg State last Saturday. Fort Hays State fell by a score of 51-48 after having the lead for almost the entire second half.

• Kate Lehman is leading the Tigers both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Lehman is averaging 15.8 points per game after only scoring four points against Pittsburg State and 9.2 rebounds per game.

• Katelyn Edwards is snagging 8.1 boards per game.
