Box Score The Lindenwood women's basketball team fell to Fort Hays State on Thursday night by a score of 75-63. The Tigers had control of the lead for the entirety of the contest.
Sarah Schnieders led the Lady Lions with 17 points while
Tori Kuhn added 12.
Down by as many as 17 in the first half, the Lady Lions cut the Tiger lead to seven just six and a half minutes into the second half. Fort Hays promptly answered back, building its lead back up to 18 just moments later. The Tigers lead would hover between 11 and 18 throughout the remainder of the game.
In the first half, the Lady Lions outrebounded the Tigers 20-18, but going cold from beyond the arc and allowing five three's gave the Lindenwood a disadvantage.
Of the Lady Lions 41 rebounds,
Caroline Bourlioux owned a team-high 10 of them. Fort Hays recorded just 39 rebounds. Kate Lehman of the Tigers recorded a floor-high eight blocks.
Two other members of Lindenwood's squad recorded double-digit points.
Marissa Lehnig had 11 while
Meagan Hittle added 10 of her own.
The Lady Lions fall to 4-12 overall and 1-7 in the MIAA. Lindenwood will wrap up its homestretch with a contest against Washburn on Saturday, January 26. Tip time at Hyland Arena is scheduled for 1 p.m.
