Box Score The Lindenwood men's basketball team led for all but 2:30 in the team's first ever MIAA conference win. The Lions beat the Truman Bulldogs 96-82 on Saturday afternoon in front of a large crowd at the Hyland Arena.
Lindenwood scored the first five points of the game followed by the Bulldogs scoring the contest's next seven points to take the lead. Truman extended the lead to four at the 14:50 mark. Following the visitors brief run the Lions took control of the game.
Lindenwood spent the next seven minutes outscoring the Bulldogs 19-6 to take the lead by nine. Truman was able to get the Lindenwood lead down to three with 3:47 to go but that was as close as the Bulldogs would get for the rest of the game. The teams headed into the halftime break with the Lions leading by 14.
The final 20 minutes was all Lindenwood. The Lions lead never dropped into single digits and got as high 18. The second half saw Lindenwood shoot 57 percent from the floor which helped propel the team to the win.
Alex Bazzell recorded his first double-double of the season with a game-high 22 points and 11 assists. The senior was four-of-seven from the field and a perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line.

Brett Thompson both chipped in with 18 points.
The Lions shot 56 percent from the field, 50 percent from the three-point line, and 84 percent from the charity stripe. Lindenwood dominated the glass, outrebounding the Bulldogs 41-22 including a 13-6 margin on the offensive boards.
With the win the Lions improve to 8-3 overall and 1-2 in MIAA play. Up next for Lindenwood is another home conference game on Thursday night against Missouri Southern.
