Lady Lions Host Missouri Southern For Third Straight Home Game

• The Lindenwood Lady Lions are hosting the Missouri Southern Lions on Thursday evening. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

• This marks the first meeting between the two schools.

• Lindenwood is coming off of an 86-65 defeat against the Truman Bulldogs. Missouri Southern held of Missouri Western at home last Saturday for a 78-76 victory.

• This is the third straight home game for the Lady Lions. Lindenwood will host Central Oklahoma on Saturday for its fourth straight home game before traveling to Missouri Western the following week. After the Missouri Western game, Lindenwood comes back to Hyland Arena for three more straight home games.

Lindenwood Notes
• The Lady Lions look to snap a 0-3 start against conference opponents this season.

• As of January 9, Lindenwood is 11th in the conference in free-throw percentage. The Lady Lions make 66.2 percent from the charity stripe.

• The Lady Lions are also 11th in the conference in field goal percentage, making 41.8 percent of their shots from the floor. Truman leads the conference, making 49.2 percent of its shots.

• Lindenwood is seventh in the conference in three-pointers, averaging a 33.9 percent clip each game.

• The Lady Lions are averaging 38.7 rebounds per game. That puts the team eighth in the MIAA in that category.

Julie Hlinak has the 16th best scoring average in the conference, posting 11.7 points per game. She is also 16th in rebounding, averaging 5.9 per contest.

Caroline Bourlioux recorded her first double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds against Truman.

• Hlinak has led the Lady Lions in scoring a team-high four times this season.

• Bourlioux is 15th in the conference in blocked shots. The junior averages 1.0 blocks per game.

Sarah Schnieders is 15th in the conference in field goal percentage. The senior has gone 32-65 this season at a clip of 49.2 percent.

• Hlinak is 13th in the MIAA in three-pointers made per game. Hlinak averages 1.7 three-pointers per game.

• After the 2011-12 season, the Lindenwood women's basketball squad was recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association for its work in the classroom. The team finished with a team GPA of 3.567 which was the seventh-highest GPA in all of NCAA Division II.

• This season marks the inaugural season for the Lady Lions in the MIAA. The MIAA is one of the top basketball conferences in Division II.

• Due to being in NCAA Division II provisional status, the Lady Lions will not have the opportunity to compete at the MIAA conference tournament in March.

• Lindenwood will host Central Oklahoma on Saturday, January 12. The Lady Lions will head to Missouri Western the following contest for the only away game in an eight game spread.

• Lindenwood fell at home to Truman. The Bulldogs defeated the Lady Lions by a score of 86-65

Caroline Bourlioux recorded her first double-double of the 2012-13 season.

• Lindenwood recorded a season-low 13 turnovers in the contest while forcing 12 by the Bulldogs.

• Lindenwood shot 44.6 percent from the floor and 45.5 percent from beyond the arc.

• The Lady Lions were unable to contain the Bulldogs from the three-point line as Truman shot 63.2 percent as a team.

• Missouri Southern most recently held off Missouri Western in a thrilling 78-76 victory at home.

• Freshman guard Sharese Jones recorded a career-high 17 points in the Missouri Western victory.

• Under the direction of Maryann Mitts, the Lions are 8-3 overall and 2-1 in the MIAA.

• Shonte Clay and Erin Rice are leading the Lions offensively, recording 8.5 points per game a piece. Rice is averaging 9.7 points in conference play.

• Clay leads the team in rebounds per game with 5.5
