Box Score The No. 5 Lindenwood Lions wrapped up their second-straight MIAA regular season conference title on Saturday afternoon after beating Upper Iowa 4-1. The Lions have now won the regular season title their first two years in the conference.

Lindenwood got the scoring going in the first half when Aris Nukic scored his 11th goal of the season off a free kick. The goal was the only one of the opening half.

It didn't take the Lions long to extend their lead in the final half. Just one minute into the half, Tiago Baptista Pereira scored his first goal of the season to give the home team the 2-0 lead.

Upper Iowa would cut into the Lions lead at the 65 minute mark after a penalty kick goal. It would take Lindenwood just over a minute to regain the two goal advantage after Franz Husbands scored his first goal of the season. Mitchell Hunt would wrap up the scoring in the game late in the final half. The goal was his first of the year.

Alexander Tiesenhausen started in goal for the third straight game and stopped all but a penalty kick by the Peacocks.

The Lions improved to 14-0-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the MIAA. With the win Lindenwood will also have the No. 1 seed in the MIAA Tournament that starts on Nov. 7 in Kansas City, Mo. Before the Lions play in the postseason, the team will play three more contest starting with a game on Wednesday at Missouri Valley.
