Women's Soccer Falls to Nebraska-Kearney 1-0 in Second Overtime

Box Score The Lindenwood women's soccer team suffered a tough 1-0 loss to Nebraska-Kearney on a penalty kick with less than three minutes left in the second overtime.

Lindenwood played great defense all game as Bailey Tracy made eight saves in the contest. The Lady Lions were slapped with three yellow cards and two red cards in the game while Nebraska-Kearney only had one yellow card.

After a scoreless regulation and a first overtime with no goals the second overtime was an interesting period. With the game looking like a tie Lindenwood was hit with their second red card of the game this time it was on the goalie Tracy. This set up the Lopers with a penalty kick in the 108th minute that would be taken against Alexandra Neely who had not yet seen playing time this year. Neely was put in a tough situation and was unable to stop the penalty kick as the Lady Lions fell 1-0.

The loss puts Lindenwood at 8-7-1 and 5-3-1 in conference play. Lindenwood will return home for the last two games of the season starting on Friday when they host Southwest Baptist in St. Charles, Mo. at 6 p.m.
