Box Score The Lindenwood women's volleyball team was shut out by the Northwest Missouri Bearcats 3-0 by scores of 25-17, 25-22, and 25-10 Friday night in Maryville, Missouri.
Kayla Guyot led the Lady Lions in kills with nine while
Emma Brydels had 21 assists.
Northwest Missouri dominated Lindenwood the majority of set one. The Lady Lions took an early 5-4 lead but it was all Northwest Missouri after this. The Bearcats led Lindenwood by as many as nine when they took an 18-9 lead. Lindenwood could not erase the large deficit and went on to lose the set 17-25.
Northwest Missouri got off to a fast start in set two by taking an 18-8 lead. While the set looked to be getting out of control, Lindenwood regrouped to start a rally against Northwest Missouri. Lindenwood went on a 14-6 run to close the gap on the Bearcats lead at 24-22. Northwest Missouri crushed Lindenwood's hope of a comeback with a kill by Abby Graves to take set two 25-22.
Northwest Missouri put on the gas pedal in set three as it defeated Lindenwood again. The Bearcats dominated throughout the set, winning 25-10.
The Lady Lions return to action tomorrow when they travel to Warrensburg to take on nationally-ranked Central Missouri (No. 5) at 3 p.m.
