Lindenwood opened up the contest by making four out of the first five shots of the afternoon. The two squads exchanged 12 leads in the first half with neither team going up more than three points at a time. Southwest Baptist's Brittney Dukes made a buzzer-beating jumper at the half to tie it up at 34-34.

The Lady Lions came out of the locker rooms with determination as they built up their largest lead of the afternoon of four after a pair of free-throws by Schnieders and a lay-up by freshman Jenny Rocha. Southwest Baptist answered with a three by Brook Duncan.

Southwest Baptist and Lindenwood produced three more ties before the Bearcats took the lead over for good.
