Lady Lions Fall To Truman On Thursday Evening

Box Score The Lindenwood women's basketball team fell on Thursday evening to Truman by a score of 74-50. Sophomore Julie Hlinak led all players on the floor with 20 points.
 
Lindenwood got off to a slow start to begin the evening, only scoring four points until after the second media timeout. Three straight three's by the Lady Lions sparked a 9-2 run to bring the Lady Lions within 11 at 26-15. Truman answered back to go up by 16 with just over a minute left and ended the half up 14 on the Lady Lions.
 
Sarah Schnieders led Lindenwood with six first half points while Hlinak added five. The Lady Lions were held to just 25.9 percent from the field in the first half.
 
Lindenwood opened up the second half with a lay-up by Schnieders to cut the Truman lead to 12, but that would be as close as it would come.
 
The Lady Lion's field goal percentage almost doubled in the second half as Lindenwood went 11-for-22 from the floor, including 4-for-10 from beyond the arc. Of the four made three's, three of those belonged to Hlinak.
 
Schnieders finished the contest with 10 points. Meagan Hittle recorded a team-high four rebounds. Truman's Allie Norton scored a team-high 15 points for the Bulldogs as she went 5-for-7 from beyond the arc.
 
Lindenwood falls to 4-20 overall and 1-15 in the MIAA. The Lady Lions will take off the weekend before traveling to Lincoln next Wednesday. Tip time in Jefferson City is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
