Lions Dominate From the Start and Roll to the Win

Box Score The Lindenwood men's basketball team got a career-high 26 points from Richie Thompson in a 80-65 win over the Lincoln Blue Tigers in Jefferson City, Mo. on Wednesday night.

The Lions took control of the game early and never looked back. Lindenwood started the game on a 14-0 run and then pushed the lead up to 18 just 10 minutes in. The Blue Tigers closed within nine but the Lions led by 12 at the end of the first half.

The final half was much of the same for the visitors as Lindenwood continued to roll. The Lions lead would grow to 17 just six minutes into the half. Lindenwood's lead only dropped into single digits one time the rest of the way.

The Lions shot 58 percent from the field and 46 percent from behind the three point line. Lindenwood dominated the glass outrebounding the Blue Tigers 41-20.

Richie Thompson led the team with his 26 points and also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. Alex Bazzell chipped in with 18 points.

With the win the Lions improve to 18-7 overall and 11-6 in conference play. Lindenwood will close out the 2012-13 season on Friday night in Kearney, Neb. against Nebraska-Kearney.
