The Lindenwood wrestling team fell to Maryville University in a dual meet on Wednesday by a score of 21-13.
Lindenwood's Blayne Shockley (125 lbs.) was able to get the Lions on the scoreboard early by winning the meet's first match by major decision. Shockley improves to 5-5 on the season in dual meets.
Matt Greene (174 lbs.) also recorded a victory for Lindenwood by beating his opponent by a 4-2 decision. Greene moves to 18-12 on the season and 6-4 in dual matches.
Lindenwood picked up another victory by injury default in the 184-pound match to bring their meet total to 13 points.
It was the final home meet of the season for the Lions. Seniors
Matt Atley,
Craig Chiles, and
Spenser Daniels were all recognized before the final home meet of their Lindenwood careers.
The Lions fall to 2-8 on the season. They will be back in action Saturday, Feb. 10 for the MIAA Championships in Edmond, Okla.
