Box Score The Lindenwood women's basketball team saw its 2012-13 season come to a close on Friday evening with an 89-74 road loss at Nebraska-Kearney.
The Lady Lions ran into a hot-shooting Lopers squad. Nebraska-Kearney made 62.3 percent of its shots from the field, including 10-of-13 from three-point range. It shot over 65 percent in the first half when it jumped out to a 53-33 lead. Lindenwood outscored the Lopers in the second half, but it could never cut the deficit under 15 points.
Two seniors saw their Lindenwood careers come to a close.
Sarah Schnieders started her 100th game at Lindenwood and finished with 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, and one steal. She ends her career ranked in the top-10 at Lindenwood in scoring with 1,161 points and in the top-five in steals with 178.
Sonya Milford dished out four assists in her final appearance at Lindenwood and also had one rebound and two steals.
Julie Hlinak was the lead player for Lindenwood with 26 points and seven rebounds. She finished the season with five 20-point scoring games, including three consecutive to end the year. She shot 10-of-20 from the field and made five three-pointers.
Jenny Rocha had a career-high 12 points and tied for the team-high with four assists.
Marissa Lehnig was also in double-figure scoring with 10.
Lindenwood ends its first season in the MIAA with a 4-22 overall record and a 1-17 conference mark.
