Box Score The Lindenwood Lady Lions soccer team played a tough and physical game on Friday night in St. Charles, Mo. which went into two overtimes resulting in a 2-1 victory for Lindenwood.
Kirsten Crabtree sent in a corner kick which bounced off a couple players and finally found the foot of
Taylor Wade for the goal. The shutout streak for
Bailey Tracy ended at nearly 328 minutes when Northeastern State tied the game at 1-1 in the 43
rd minute.
The Lady Lions started the second half strong getting pressure but the RiverHawks quickly took the momentum back getting multiple shots on net. For the rest of the half play went back-and-forth resulting in a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation.
After a scoreless first overtime Crabtree received a pass from
Jackie Lindner and fired the ball in the top right corner of the net with just over a minute left for the thrilling 2-1 victory.
With the victory the Lady Lions move to 6-2-0 on the year and 3-0 in the MIAA. Lindenwood will play Central Oklahoma on Sunday at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. for a 1 p.m. start.
