The Lindenwood women's ice hockey team tied with Bemidji State on Saturday night in St. Peters, Mo. Both teams scored one second-period goal in a 1-1 game.

After an evenly-played first period, Lindenwood went on the power play early in the second. Just seven seconds into the advantage, Brooke Peden scored her first collegiate goal. Chelsea Witwicke and Kendra Broad assisted on the goal.

Lindenwood kept the lead until the final two minutes of the period. The Lady Lions killed off a power play but before the skater could get back into the action, the Beavers scored to tie the game.

Lindenwood had two power-play chances after that, but it couldn't score to go back ahead. Both goalies kept the puck out of the net for the third period and overtime, leading to the tie game.

Both teams finished with 28 shots. Lindenwood was one-of-four on the power play, while the Beavers were officially scoreless in their only attempt. Nicole Hensley made 27 saves in goal for Lindenwood. Kendra Broad led the team with five shots, one more than Morgan Church.

Lindenwood goes to 0-1-1 on the season. The Lady Lions are in action again next week at North Dakota.
