Box Score The No. 18 Lindenwood men's soccer team scored three goals in a 10-minute span against Missouri S&T on Sunday night and won the final game of the MIAA/GLVC Crossover Classic 3-0.
The first 45 minutes of the game saw both teams play a very defensive half. The two teams combined for just eight shots on goal.
Finally, 20 minutes into the second half the Lions broke through and exploded for three goals in just a 10 minutes span. The first goal was scored by
Hernan Gonzalez after heading in a perfect pass from
Mauricio Medina. Four minutes later Ignacio Romero would score his second goal of the season on a penalty kick. In the 74 minute, Lindenwood completed the scoring barrage when
Aris Nukic scored his second goal of the year.
Fermin Hughes notched his first shutout of the season after stopping all five of the Miners shots.
The Lions finish the MIAA-GLVC Classic with a record of 2-0. Lindenwood will return home on Tuesday night for the program's home opener against Maryville.Â
