Box Score For the second straight day, the second period cost the Lindenwood women's hockey team as the Lady Lions lost to RIT by a 2-0 margin.
Neither team was able to score in the first and third periods, but the Tigers struck twice in the middle period. The first goal came just 17 seconds into the period, while the other goal came on the power play with just 24 seconds left in the second.
Other than those two plays, Lindenwood's defense was sharp. RIT took 38 shots in the game but
Nicole Hensley stopped 36 of them.
Jocelyn Slattery had four of Lindenwood's 14 blocked shots.
The Lady Lions will return to the Lindenwood Ice Arena next weekend for a series against nationally-ranked Robert Morris. Friday's game will be the team's Pink the Rink event, in which the program will raise money to help fight cancer.
