The Lindenwood men's soccer team clinched a spot in the MIAA Tournament with a dominating 5-0 win over the Harding Bisons on Thursday night in St. Charles.
Lindenwood started the scoring early in the first half.
Alfredo Paez gave the Lions the lead after finishing off a perfect pass from
Stefan Andric. The Lions would score two more goals before the first half ended.
Mitchell Hunt scored his first of two goals on the night and Paez netted his second of the first half.
The second half was just as dominating for the home team. Hunt scored in the 74
th minute and Steven Hutchinson would score the team's fifth goal of the night just four minutes later.
Andrew Hamerlinck started in goal for the Lions and earned the shutout and improved his record to 7-4-3.
For the third straight season Lindenwood will play in the MIAA Tournament which starts on Nov. 6 in Olathe, Kan.
With the win the Lions improve to 8-6-3 overall and 6-4-1 in the MIAA. The Lions will close out the season Saturday afternoon on the road against Southern Nazarene.
