Box Score The Lindenwood Lions men's basketball team won its third straight game on Wednesday night 72-63 over Illinois-Springfield in St. Charles.

The first half both teams shot the bell really well. Lindenwood shot 58 percent from the field while the Prairie Stars shot 57 percent. The Lions though held a slight four point advantage heading into the locker room.

Lindenwood came out of the halftime break and pushed the lead up to 13 with just under 13 minutes to play. The Lions defense turned up the pressure in the second half and the visitors could only get to as close as eight for the rest of the game.

Illinois-Springfield held the lead for just 6:14 and its largest lead was seven but real early in the contest.

The Lions two senior leaders led the way.
Darris Smith scored 22 while
Garrett Reeg scored 17 while also grabbing nine rebounds.
Cory Arentsen also scored in double figures with 10.

Lindenwood shot 47 percent from the field and 39 percent from behind the three-point line. The Lions dominated the glass outrebounding Illinois-Springfield 32-25.

With the win the Lions improve to 3-2 on the season. Up next for Lindenwood is an old NAIA foe, Baker, on Saturday afternoon in St. Charles.Â
