Lindenwood Game Notes Syracuse Game Notes CHA Weekly Notes

Series Notes
- Lindenwood looks to continue its longest winning streak since joining the NCAA. The Lady Lions are coming off a weekend road sweep of Penn State with a win 2-1 Saturday and a thrilling overtime win Sunday 4-3. Previous to the sweep of the Nittany Lions came the upset of then No. 8 Robert Morris at home.

- Lindenwood extended its winning streak to three games after taking down the Penn State Nittany Lions in both games. The sweep was the first of the season for Lindenwood and was the team's first visit to Pegula Ice Arena

- The Lady Lions enter play this weekend in fifth place in the CHA with 11 points leaving them eight points clear of Penn State and six points behind the visiting Orange.

- Earlier this season, the two teams split a series in Syracuse, N.Y. Lindenwood won the first game by a 2-1 score, and Syracuse won game two by a 4-1 margin.

- In the first game, Lindenwood scored the first goal before Syracuse tied it up. Katie Erickson then scored a late power-play goal to give the Lady Lions the victory.

- Syracuse took the second game as it jumped out to a 3-0 lead with a shorthanded goal, even-strength goal, and a power-play goal before winning 4-1.

- Alyssa West, Katie Ericksom, and Kendra Broad each found the back of the net for the Lady Lions in the first series.

- Nicole Hensley had a 3.49 GAA and a .915 save percentage against Syracuse in the first series against Syracuse with a 1-1 record

- Lindenwood is 2-6-0 all-time against Syracuse, including a 0-2-0 mark in games played at the Lindenwood Ice Arena.

A Look Back At Penn State
- Lindenwood swept a road series at Penn State with a 2-1 victory and 4-3 overtime win in University Park, Pa.

- The Lady Lions jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first game before holding on for the win. Alyssa West scored midway through the first period and Caitlyn Post scored on the power-play minutes later.

- Lindenwood won game two by a 4-3 margin in overtime. The Lady Lions fell behind early before responding with three unanswered goals, including two on the power-play. Penn State battled back forcing it to overtime before Kendra Broad scored to win the game.

- Kendra Broad and Alyssa West each had a goal and assist in the series, while Lyndsay Kirkham had a goal and two assists.

- Nicole Hensley stopped 89 of 93 shots in the series while not allowing a goal on any of the Penn State power plays.

- The season sweep extended the season-long winning streak to three games. This ties the longest winning streak since the team joined NCAA.

- Katie Nokelby led the team by being a +2 for the series.

Lindenwood Notes
- Nicole Hensley was names the CHA Goalie of the Week. She won both games over the weekened with a .957 save percentage and 1.95 GAA. This is her second CHA weekly award of the season.

- Lyndsay Kirkham scored her first power-play goal of the year in the 4-3 win over Penn State.

- Kendra Broad and Lyndsay Kirkham continue to be a dynamic duo. Broad scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Penn State on which Kirkham assisted. Kirkham had another assist and a goal in the same game.

- Nicole Hensley is just four saves away from passing 1,000 for the season. She needs just 29 saves to break into the NCAA's top-15 list for single-season saves, and 76 to break into the top-10.

- The team is riding a three-game winning streak coming into the weekend series against Syracuse. This matches the longest in the team's NCAA History.

- Nicole Hensley made 89 saves in the series against Penn State and earned the win in both contests.

- Kendra Broad's seven goals, nine assists, and 16 points this season all rank in the top-20 for CHA players.

- Katie Erickson had a goal in the last game and also scored the game winner with just six seconds left against Syracuse.

- Last Saturday, the Lady Lions went to an overtime contest for the fourth time this season. Lindenwood has yet to lose in the extra period this year.

- With the series sweep, Lindenwood is now 12-1-2 all-time in games played in February.

CHA Notes
- Two CHA teams are nationally-ranked. Robert Morris is eighth in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and ninth in the USCHO.com poll. Mercyhurst is tenth and eighth, respectively.

- This weekend's CHA schedule sees Robert Morris at RIT, Mercyhurst at Penn State, and Syracuse at Lindenwood

- The reigning CHA Players of the Week are Mercyhurst's Jenna Dingledein (Player of the Week), Lindenwood's Nicole Hensley (Goalie of the Week), and Syracuse's Jessica Sibley (Rookie of the Week).

About the Orange
- Syracuse has been on quite the roll, losing just three times in its last ten games

- The Orange boast one of the country's top goaltending tandems with Kallie Billadeau and Jessica Drinkwater. Drinkwater has a 1.93 GAA and a .928 save percentage, while Billaeau has a 2.12 GAA and a .933 save percentage.

- Melissa Piacentini is tied at 14th in the country with 15 goals thus far. She has added 11 assists go alongside her goal total for a team-high 26 points.

- Jessica Sibley is the current CHA Rookie of The Week. Sibley was a factor on every goal in the team's upset of Robert Morris with a goal and two assists.

- Paul Flanagan is in his fifth season as the Syracuse head coach. He has a record of 71-86-14 at Syracuse and 301-169-38 overall.
