Box Score The Lindenwood women's hockey team fell to the visiting Syracuse Orange Friday night at the Lindenwood Ice Arena by the score of 5-2.
Before the game, seniors
Chelsea Witwicke and
Jocelyn Slattery were honored for senior night, unfortunately the team would be able to give the duo a positive send off.
Syracuse jumped on top from the beginning with three goals in the first period including a goal from current CHA Rookie of the Week Jessica Sibley as well two other Orange players. The second period would be a battle of defenses until the Orange lit the lamp on a one-timer that was able to get by CHA Goalie of the Week
Nicole Hensley.
The Lady Lions tried to battle back in the third outplaying Syracuse. Lindenwood was able to find the net on a beautiful pass from Slattery to
Kendra Broad who scored her tenth goal of the year. This is the third straight series Broad has scored a goal. The Orange answered with a goal a few minutes later. This goal was followed quickly by a blast from
Katie Erickson from the point to make it 5-2 but the four goal deficit proved to be too much.
In the game Lindenwood was outshot 39 to 16 with Hensley stopping 34 shots.
The two teams will be back in action tomorrow in the home finale at 2 p.m.
