Lions Lose Final Road Game of Season at Northwest Missouri

Box Score The Lindenwood men's basketball team dropped its final road game of the season 70-59 to the Northwest Missouri Bearcats on Wednesday night in Maryville, Mo.

Lindenwood had a tough night shooting the ball going just 18-for-46 from the field. The Lions were also dominated in the paint with the Bearcats outscoring Lindenwood 32-12 down low.

Brandon Marquardt and Garret Reeg did everything they could to help keep the Lions close but it just wasn't enough. Marquardt scored 17 points on six-of-10 shooting while Reeg scored 16.

The contest started with the Lions taking the early 8-7 lead with 14:26 to play but unfortunately for the Lions that was the last lead the team would have. The Bearcats took control from that point on and never let the road team back in the game.

Northwest took a 10 point lead into the locker room and never looked back. The home team pushed its lead up to as many as 16 late in the second half.

The loss drops the Lions to 10-17 overall and 5-12 in MIAA play. Lindenwood will close out the regular season with a pair of home games starting with Lincoln on Saturday afternoon.
