Box Score The Lindenwood women's hockey team started its final series of the regular season on Friday afternoon with a 4-1 loss to nationally-ranked Mercyhurst.
The Lady Lions had one of their top defensive efforts in its series history with the Lakers. The number eight team in NCAA Division I took 48 shots, but it got just three past goalie
Nicole Hensley. Mercyhurst also scored an empty-net goal in the final minute of the game.
Offensively, Lindenwood could not take advantage of six power-play opportunities. It had 18 shots in the game and scored its only goal midway through the third period.
Kendra Broad had the goal with an assist from
Carrie Atkinson.
Broad and
Katie Erickson both finished with a +1 for the contest. Hensley had a .936 save percentage in the game and made 44 saves.
Lindenwood ends its regular season on Saturday afternoon with another contest against Mercyhurst.
