The Lindenwood men's soccer team snapped a two-game losing skid with a 3-1 win over the Southwest Baptist on Saturday night in St. Charles.

Lindenwood got on the scoreboard just five minutes into the first half. Ignacio Romero scored his first of two goals on the night to give the home team a 1-0 lead. Romero would follow his first goal up with another in the 29^th minute.

The second half started quickly for the Lions as well. Just three minutes in to the final half Steven Hutchinson converted a perfect give-and-go with Alejandro Da Silva for the third goal of the game.

Southwest Baptist tried to get back into the game in the 57^th minute but that would be the team's only goal.

Lindenwood outshot Southwest Baptist 21-9 with a 9-7 edge on shots on goal. Andrew Hamerlinck started in goal and earned his first shutout of the season.

The win improves the Lions to 2-2-2 overall and 1-0 in MIAA play. Up next for the Lions is a road game against Fort Hays State next Thursday.
