Box Score The Lindenwood men's soccer team beat the Truman State Bulldogs on Tuesday night by the score of 3-2 in St. Charles.
The Lions started the scoring off early in the contest.
Nabil El Machit scored his first goal of the season after a perfect from
Mitchell Hunt. Lindenwood added one more right before the half when Hunt got behind the Bulldog defense and scored on a breakaway.
Truman cut into the Lions lead in the 58
th minute when Nick Franta scored on a blocked clearing attempt. The Lions got their two goal lead back just six minutes later when
Jose Del Val scored.
The Bulldogs would not go away though. A penalty called on the Lions in the penalty area led to penalty kick goal by Truman to get within one.
Truman put lots of pressure on the Lions defense but could not get the game-tying goal. The Bulldogs outshot Lindenwood on the night 11-6.
With the win the Lions improve to 4-3-2 overall. Lindenwood will get back into MIAA play on Thursday when Southern Nazarene comes to town. Â
