Lady Lions Fall to UMSL

Box Score The Lindenwood women's soccer team lost 3-1 on Sunday afternoon to the University of Missouri-St. Louis Tritons on the road. The Tritons scored two early goals and the Lady Lions could not dig out of the big hole.

UMSL started the scoring off in the 32nd minute when Emily Mosier scored from just outside the penalty area. The Tritons added to their lead early in the second half when Sidney Allen scored.

Lindenwood cut the Tritons lead to one after Muranda Huebner scored her first goal of the season with help from Kristen Brewer. The one goal deficit would be as close as the Lady Lions would get. The Tritons regained their two goal lead in the 84th minute and that would be the final score.

The Tritons outshot Lindenwood 14-10 which included an 8-5 advantage with shots on goal.

Melissa Weiss started in goal for the Lady Lions and made six saves.

After the loss Lindenwood ran its record to 0-1-1. The Lady Lions will be back in action on Tuesday night against Missouri S&T.
