The Lindenwood men's volleyball team remained undefeated on the season with a 3-1 win over NJIT on Friday night at Hyland Arena. The Lions lost the first set, but bounced back for a 21-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-15 victory.
The Lions started slow after hitting just .222 and having six service errors in the first set. The loss woke the team up though, as it dominated the rest of the match. Lindenwood hit .514 for the final three sets, and held the Highlanders to just a .091 mark in that span.
Colin Hackworth led Lindenwood offensively with 17 kills and a .484 hitting percentage. He also had a team-high five service aces, four block assists, and 24 points.
Kyle Overby was second on the team with 13 kills and he also hit over .400. A balanced offense also saw nine kills from
Jake Duckworth, seven for
Zach Bequette, and six from
Logan Jarus.
Connor Metcalfe led Lindenwood with 41 assists and 12 digs, and Jarus had a team-high eight blocks. Duckworth, Jarus, and Overby all joined Hackworth with double-figure points.
Lindenwood is now 2-0 on the young season. The Lions will host crosstown rival Missouri Baptist on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

Kris Dorn was recognized prior to the match for recently hitting a milestone victory. Dorn won his 100th career match last Saturday in the team's 3-2 victory over Grand View.
