Garrett Reeg Scores His 1,000 Career Point in Win at SBU

Box Score On a night when Garrett Reeg became the 10th Lindenwood Lion in school history to score 1,000 career points the Lions continued their roll beating the Southwest Baptist Bearcats 73-66 Thursday night in Bolivar, Mo.

The game started slow for Lindenwood missing its first four shots but from then on it was all Lions. Lindenwood closed the first half shooting 52 percent and held a three-point lead.

Coming out of the locker room the Lions offense stayed hot and was able to push its lead up to as many 14. Southwest Baptist tried to come back late in the second half but the comeback fell short. The Lions closed the game from the free throw line eight-of-10.

Cory Arentsen led the way for Lindenwood with 21 points. Darris Smith chipped in with 18 and Reeg scored seven to go along with five rebounds.

The Lions shot 51 percent from the field and continued its NCAA Division 2 best three point shooting making 47 percent from deep. Lindenwood lost the rebounding battle 36-23 but only turned the ball over five times.

The win was the Lions eighth straight win and seventh straight conference win. Lindenwood is now 12-6 overall and 7-2 in the MIAA. The Lions will welcome Central Missouri to the Hyland Arena on Saturday afternoon.
