Lady Lions Set to Open CHA Schedule vs. Penn State

Series Notes
- The Lindenwood women's hockey team continues its 2015-16 season this Friday and Saturday against CHA opponent, the Penn State Nittany Lions. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on both nights from Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo.

- The Lady Lions last played during a two-game, two-city road trip, recording 4-2 victories vs. the University of New Hampshire and No. 10 Northeastern University on October 9th and 10th.

- A season ago the two teams met six times, including twice during the first round of the CHA tournament. Penn State won the 2014-2015 season series 4-2, including a sweep in postseason play. Both playoff games last year were played in University Park, Pa. The Nittany Lions were victorious in game one by a score of 1-0, and followed up with a 3-1 win the next day, ending the Lady Lions season. Lindenwood holds the edge in the all-time series 7-6-1.  

- Penn State enters the weekend series with a record of 3-5-0, with this weekend marking their first conference games of the season. The Nittany Lions come to Wentzville looking to rebound after being swept at home by the University of Connecticut Huskies on Oct. 24 and Oct. 25. 

Lindenwood Notes
- The Lady Lions victory over No. 10 ranked Northeastern on Oct. 10 marked the third win over a ranked opponent in program history. The last victory against a ranked team came on January 3, 2015 vs. Bemidji State.

- During the two-game road trip, Shara Jasper registered five goals and two assists including a hat-trick during the Lady Lions 4-2 victory over No. 10 Northeastern Huskies

- Freshman goalie Jolene deBruyn recorded her first-career victory on Oct. 10 at Northeastern. deBruyn turned in 38 saves in the contest, including 19 saves during a scoreless first period, propelling Lindenwood to the upset victory.

- Jasper and deBruyn were honored as the CHA Player and Goalie of the Week, respectively, for the week of Oct. 5 – Oct. 11. For Jasper, this marks the second time this season she has won the award, while deBruyn garnered the honors for the first time in her career.

- Sophomore Sarah Bobrowski tallied four assists during the two Lady Lion road games, growing her season total to seven. Bobrowski currently ranks second on the team in points with eight.

- Lindenwood currently has four skaters with a positive plus/minus rating. Jasper leads the way with a +7, followed by Bobrowski and Shannon Morris-Reade with a +3 rating, and Carrie Atkinson has a +1 rating. Last season, the Lady Lions wrapped up the year with just one skater earning a positive rating.

- Thus far, the Lady Lions have blocked a total of 96 shots as a team. Individually, the team has three skaters who have accumulated double-digit blocks. Atkinson has a team-high 17, followed by Tae Otte with 16, and Katie Nokelby has 10.

- The Lady Lions will return to action on Nov. 6th and 7th when they host the Syracuse University Orange from Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo. Before the season, the Orange were tabbed as the favorite in the College Hockey America Coaches Poll and currently have a record of 3-4-0.
