Women's Hockey Set to Host Syracuse This Weekend

Series Notes
- The Lindenwood women's hockey team continues its 2015-16 season this Friday and Saturday against CHA opponent, the Syracuse Orange. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday from Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo.

- The Lady Lions are coming off of a 1-0-1 weekend series vs. the Penn State Nittany Lions on October 30 and October 31. Trailing 2-1 heading to the third period on October 30, Lindenwood rallied with four unanswered goals to win 5-2. The following night, Lindenwood and Penn State played to a 1-1 overtime tie.

- A season ago the two teams met four times within CHA play. Syracuse won the 2014-2015 season series 2-1-1. The inital matchup was a series played in Wentzville, Mo. that was dominated by the respective goalies, Nicole Hensley and Jenn Gilligan, each allowing only two goals over the two games. Syracuse won the first matchup, with Lindenwood winning the second. The teams reconvened in February from Syracuse, N.Y. playing to a 4-4 tie in the first game, before the Orange won the second game 3-1.

- Syracuse enters the weekend series with a record of 4-5-0, and are 2-1-0 from within the CHA. The Orange arrive in Wentzville following a road series split with the Robert Morris Colonials on October 30 and 31. The Orange were tabbed as the preseason favorite in the CHA Coaches Poll, receiving three of the six first-place votes.

Lindenwood Notes
- Following her hat-trick on Friday night vs. Penn State, Shara Jasper became the first Lady Lion in program history to record back-to-back hat-tricks. Jasper also tallied three goals on October 10 during a 4-2 Lindenwood victory at No. 10 Northeastern.    

- By scoring five goals on Friday night vs. Penn State, Lindenwood tied a program record for most goals scored against an NCAA Division I opponent. It also represented the most goals scored by the Lady Lions at the Lindenwood Ice Arena.

- Trailing 2-1 heading into the third period on Friday night, the Lady Lions rallied with four goals during the final period, signifying the most goals scored in one period vs. an NCAA Division I opponent.  

- The Lady Lions recorded 14 points as a team during Friday night's 5-2 victory over Penn State, which also represents a new team-high vs. an NCAA Division I opponent. Seven Lady Lions picked up a point during the victory, including three with multi-point games.  

- Earlier this week Shara Jasper was named as the CHA Player of the Month for September/October. Jasper is currently the conference leader in goals with 10 and points with 15. Through the Lady Lions' first eight games, Jasper has recorded two hat-tricks and accumulated multi-point performances in four of the games.

- Nicole Hensley was honored as the CHA Goalie of the Week for the week of Oct. 26 – Nov. 1. For Hensley, this marks the first time this season she has won the award and the seventh time during her career. The award comes after Hensley started both contests vs. Penn State making 64 saves and allowing just three goals against.

- The Lady Lions will return to the ice on Nov. 13th and 14th when they travel to Erie, Pa. to take on CHA foe the Mercyhurst Lakers. Before the season, the Lakers were selected picked third in the College Hockey America Coaches Poll and currently have a record of 2-5-1 and 2-0-0 in conference play.
